The Grant Contract of the above project was signed on January 12, 2010 at Mai Thi Chit Guest House, Vientiane Capital, between H. E. Through this project, 2 bridges will be built in Phonethan Village and Posy Village in Kham District. Currently there is no bridge in Phonethan Village and there is a simple bridge made of bamboo in Posy Village. Therefore people in those two villages as well as neighbouring villages have suffered their limited access to educational and medical facilities. They have also suffered very limited access to market.

This project will provide basic infrastructures necessary for improving villagers’ living conditions.

The Government of Japan has so far provided grant assistances to construct 16 bridges in Laos under the GGP.
